Kizingiti Wildlife, situated in the Waterberg Biosphere, is a 4500ha “re-naturalised” open and controlled game breeding farm. Our ethos of sustainable and ethical game farming are the guiding principles behind our undertaking.
The two farms comprising Kizingiti Wildlife were purchased by the current owners between the years 2004 and 2006. Both farms had been farmed as crop, livestock and citrus orchard enterprises. Given that this part of the Waterberg is unkind to domestic animal culture and crop farming, it was deemed an ideal location for a “re-naturalisation”.
A process of re-establishing the natural ecosystem was commenced with by growing trees and shrubs from seed in our dedicated nursery and replanting the denuded valleys and thereafter the introduction of carefully selected and superior specimens of indigenous game species.
We built the first of two controlled breeding facilities in 2009 including a substantial game boma and introduced our first rare game programme, having acquired 10 “Piet Warren” bloodline sable cows and two bulls. Our buffalo programme commenced some two years later.
We are the proud owners of the superb and well known sable breeding bulls, Gemsbok (brother of Charlie), Spartacus (Son of John, Grandson of Madala and Stamper) and Arthur (recently purchased from Chimoyo) as well as the very impressive Madikwebuffalo bull, Judge. These programmes continue to go from strength to strength alongside our Golden Wildebeest, Black Impala, Livingstone Eland, superior common Impala and superior Nyala controlled breeding programmes. Our open breeding plains game programme continues to present impressive trophy animals.
Leon and Marlize Grobler manage the many aspects of the farm with dedication and foresight, giving effect to the ethos and aspirations of Kizingithi Wildlife.
